PITTI UOMO 89: Peacock Spotting

It's the time of the year once again where bands of gentlemen, smartly suited up, walk the streets of Florence, striking up a pose every now and then. These gentlemen are stopped to have their unique and individual styles photographed as a lasting memory of a very special event, both for magazines and for their own style blogs.

This is the effect of the most anticipated and leading men's fashion week, Pitti Uomo. The theme for the 89th edition of Pitti is Generation. In men's fashion, age is indeed just a number. In this edition of Pitti Uomo, we see men from all walks of life coming together to celebrate the one thing that matters to them - fashion.

While Pitti seems like one of the general global conventions that are held every year, it's important and interesting to note that the trade show features many exciting emerging or established designers and offers them a platform to showcase their designs. The influence Pitti has on the industry is growing as more and more designers and fashion-lovers alike flock to the platform, both to gain exposure and to soak up the massive volume of creativity from people all over the world.
