Day 12 with Santa Gnome: Santa Gnome’s Guide to Spending a Memorable Christmas Eve

Christmas eve's a magical day. It's when first love blooms, and when friendships and kinships are strengthened. Santa Gnome recommends some activities that you can do to have a memorable Christmas eve. If you do get that long-awaited kiss under the mistletoe (or Christmas lights), you'll have Santa Gnome to thank!

1) Visit Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay

Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay's probably the most highlighted Christmas event in Singapore. You're bound to fall in love with all the magnificent light sculptures and festive markets. The best time to visit the event is at night, where the beautiful lights can be seen in contrast with the darkness of the night. Santa Gnome loves Santa's Cottage in particular, as it reminds him of home when he's out delivering gifts and feeling homesick. Check out the opening hours of the event on their website and make sure to bring an umbrella along just in case it rains!

2) Visit RIBbon @ Read Bridge

If you're not one who loves crowds, the Read Bridge at Clarke Quay's the place to go to still feel the Christmas spirit and see some stunning light installations. The lights pulsate according to the resonance of the music that plays when pedestrian traffic is detected by motion sensors on the bridge. Santa Gnome likes to bring Rudolph to the bridge to showcase Rudolph's hidden talent at tap dancing and enjoy the dance of the triggered lights. Check out Singapore River's website for more activities along the river near Clarke Quay!

3) Visit Universal Studios Singapore (USS) for an All-Star Christmas

Bring her to Universal Studios Singapore (USS) if she loves the excitement of rollercoasters just like Santa Gnome as he attempts to race the rollercoasters with Rudolph. She's bound to enjoy the day with all the different rides, and USS has also lined up many Christmas programmes for park visitors this festive season. Experience a snowy Christmas in the amusement park, or experience Christmas from the Victorian era as Sting Alley's transformed into 19th Century England. Get your kiss under the magnificent fireworks display for a modern take on Christmas! Check out the website for the full schedule of Christmas programmes and ticket prices.

4) Celebrate Christmas with local music acts at Orchard Central

Catch amazing local acts at Orchard Central for a festive eargasm. For the entire month of December, there's a lineup of seven local acts playing acoustically at Orchard Central's atrium to satisfy your eardrums. With a mix of original tunes and notable Christmas carols, it's no wonder why Santa Gnome likes to drop by Orchard Central in between the delivery of Christmas gifts.

5) Dance in the snow at 1-Altitude

Bust out those dance moves at 1-Altitude as the chic bar transforms itself into a giant snow globe. Enjoy the experience of a winter wonderland and Christmas carols over some drinks while asking her for a dance like she's your queen. She'll be delighted over your request and you might even be amazed at her talent at dancing! Also keep a lookout for Santa Gnome, you might just catch him hiding at a corner, sipping on some gin and enjoying the faux snow to make up for his homesickness. Check out 1-Altitude's website for their opening hours or to make a reservation.
