4th June 2018 - Expanding from Gnome & Bow’s knack for telling stories through bags and wallets, Your Story as the name suggests, focuses the attention this time on the user’s story.
The deliberately classic and minimalist design of the small leather goods serves as a canvas for the user to tell his or her story through the monogramming of creative monikers and quotes. Whether it’s a ‘fire-breathing penguin’ that lives in you or whether you believe that ‘there are no rules of architecture for a castle in the clouds’, this collection lets you be you and who you want to be. That being said, initials and names are still very welcomed.
Gnome & Bow has upped their ante on their monogramming service, offering 2 new, distinct fonts - Huxley and Bernhard. Each monogram can now not only be debossed blind but also in gold or silver. Monograms are offered in 2-line and 3-line configurations, up from the initial 1-line standard. While 2-line monograms are great for quotes and long names, 3-line monograms push the boundaries of creativity. The combinations are endless.
The collection consists of essential classics like billfolds, card wallets and card sleeves. Two new offerings spice things up. The first is the Jules Passport Wallet, which boasts dual-currency compartments, 7 card slots, a zippered pocket, a SIM card slot and an Apple SIM card pin needle. All that in a sleek profile not much larger than your passport. The second new addition is the Gulliver Luggage Tag, inspired by books. The 3-line monogram on this seals the look of a book cover. You get to decide on your book title and author. The Gulliver also accompanies the Porthos Briefcase and Athos Backpack from their SS18 collection, Book III: The 4th Musketeer.
The collection is crafted in U.S. full-grain leather and comes in their iconic Oxblood colourway, perennial Black and a new Royal Blue colourway. Inside, you will find a herringbone cotton blend lining, that peeks out in tasteful doses. Each wallet also comes packaged in the brand’s new grey storybook box, a signature of the brand. Book boxes from previous collections have become collectables and are limited in quantity.
This grey one joins a series consisting of black, blue, green and dark blue book boxes.
Further to the collection is a series of Italian vegetable-tanned braided leather bracelets that come in 4 designs in 4 colours each. The classic style demonstrates an understated modernity, while the antique style oozes a vintage appeal achieved through time-honoured dyeing and washing techniques.
